Family Autocare - Hwy 5 Mckinney

I can’t say enough good things about this family-owned auto repair shop. From the moment I walked in, I was met with honesty and genuine care. My car ended up needing more work than I originally thought, but everything was explained clearly and respectfully. There was no pressure, no upselling, just transparency. What truly stood out was Ruben’s kindness. When he realized the repairs would take all day and saw that I had my Type 1 diabetic child with me, he worked with me to come up with a plan so I could come back later to get the work done. That level of understanding and flexibility meant more to me than he probably knows. As a single mom, I deeply appreciated both the honesty and the willingness to work with my situation. I felt taken care of, not taken advantage of, which sadly can be how women sometimes feel at mechanic shops. This place earned my trust, and that’s priceless. I will absolutely be coming back and recommending them to others.

I’ve gone to Family AutoCare multiple times because I know they are going to take care of my car and me! I live in Dallas by myself away from family and it is comforting for myself and for my family to know that if anything comes up with my car I can come here and they will take care of it! They have provided consistent great service on my car and are always the sweetest people, even providing rides home or to work if needed. Amazing place! Fair prices and have never tried to sell me something I don’t need. I would give 10 stars if I could!

Wonderful service all around! Rueben was very responsive. I believe his team is very knowledgeable and extremely fair on price with attention to detail compared to local OEM service providers. It was great to not have the constant upsale dialogue most get from other service centers. We will be back and spread the word. Thank you!

It started off good, I spoke with Rubin. I told him what my car was doing and he said I can bring it to them. He said it would be $100 to diagnose my problem. It was the battery to start with. They wanted to charge me almost $400 battery and installation. I knew then to take my car back. Even though there was several other issues I wanted to get fixed. But realized quickly this place I can't trust. $100 to install a car battery. I towed my car home and installed my own battery. Total cost $215!!! They charged$100 to diagnose a batter and I found a battery for $115.

I had such a great experience here! I originally came in because I was told my Jeep’s suspension might be off, and I also planned to get an oil change while I was there. From the moment I walked in, the customer service was amazing. They took the time to look everything over and were completely honest with me, letting me know I didn’t actually need the work I thought I did. That kind of honesty is hard to find these days. They were professional, reasonable, and made the whole experience easy and stress-free. I really appreciated that they weren’t trying to upsell me or charge me for something unnecessary. I’ll definitely be coming back and would recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy car shop!
